About Cross Trails

Cross Trails has grown out of a dream to establish a “Cowboy Church” that is also a “Biblical Community”, focused on reaching and ministering to people who need to know Jesus and the rescue, restoration, and reclamation He has for them.  A few years ago, Greg and JW Johnson began inviting people to come to their horse ranch to rope and ride and fellowship together.  They soon added a meal and a “bible challenge” to their gatherings on Monday evenings, and a close knit fellowship began to form.

The dream has always been to create a Cowboy style biblical community that would grow into a church, a community, and a place where people could live and do life together.

In 2007, the Johnsons purchased the Prairie Rose with the intention of using the property and buildings as a starting place for the fulfillment of the dream of a cowboy church.  The next four years were spent praying, dreaming, vision casting, and then praying more.

In late 2011 and early 2012, the dream began to become a reality as a small team of leaders began to meet with the Johnsons to pray, plan, and prepare for the launch of a church that meets on Sunday.  The early stages of a focused mission to reach people who experience various “hurts, habits, and hang-ups” was born.

Since that time, God has continued to expand and clarify the dream and vision in the hearts of the people of Cross Trails.
